Follow The Yellow Brick Road

Last week we went to Ikea

The one that’s down Warrington way

We only called in for an hour

The trip took us half of a day

As we visited every department

Feeling dejected and bored

We were forced to follow the arrows

Like Dorothy on’t yellow brick road

Whoever invented this concept

Got pleasure from their silly games

Like giving each item for sale

Strange Scandinavian name

I thought that my ordeal was over

As a stair took us down to ground floor

But then I discovered the truth

We still had half way to go

What did I get from my visit

Originally meant as a treat

All I got for my troubles

A free pencil and a pair of sore feet

We finally returned to the car

I turned to my wife and I said

The people in there are not shoppers

Like their pencils they are wooden and lead
