Oh To Be In Spain
Tuesday morning, end of May
Sun is in the sky
Time to get away
Time to say goodbye.
Sun tan cream from Boots
Sun shades, sandals, glasses
Passport at the ready
Join migrating masses.
Lying on the beaches
Long and restful days
Watching gulls and gannets
Through the shimmering haze.
Sound of sea and laughter
Children having fun
Red and brown bare bodies
Basking in the sun.
Cloudless skies by day
Starlit sky at night
Tideless blue green water
Makes a magic sight.
The magic has been broken
The curtain has come down
I'm not in warm Majorca
But a smoke filled dirty town.
