Hardshaw Centre
Each day in Hardshaw centre
View the diurnal sights
All sitting round the table
Like King Arthur and his knights.
A pair of nonagenarians
Are sat on Arthur’s throne
Surrounded by their harem
Rarely sat alone.
Albert comes from Sutton
Harry from South Wales
Enthralling all around them
With their far and distant tales.
Discussing all Saints matches
Dissecting every try
Seeking further comments
From others passing by.
Their daily reminiscing
Of times and folks long gone
When the town had full employment
And Pilks were Number One.
Not all is in the past
Each day is not the same
Times spent looking to the future
And discussing Saints next game
The group break up each morning
Prompt at half past ten
Just wait until tomorrow
When they do it all again.
